I have always been a fan of great graffiti art, but I have my limits. The whole idea of graffiti is to spice up and fight against the boring often grey urban jungle. There are some great examples of beautiful pieces.
What I just can’t understand is taking the most urban art to nature. As a rock climber I often encounter rocks which are full of tags and other poor quality graffitis. I can cope with this when it happens close to urban centers, but It’s just very annoying when you encounter this 30 kilometers from the closest city. Last weekend I was climbing at Summit Rock, close to Castle Rock State Park. The place is in pitiful condition, hundreds of broken bottles and rock full of dull graffiti!
